It's time for the 2026 Annual Appeal

Think about the last time you put your hands in the dirt. For a lot of kids today, the answer is never. Here at The Garden, we’re changing that, one field trip, one seedling, one muddy pair of shoes at a time.

Once a year, we ask our community for a special gift. That’s the Annual Appeal. It’s separate from membership, admission and event tickets. It’s a gift above and beyond, and it goes straight to the work: caring for this land, teaching the next generation, and keeping The Garden open to everyone. This one request can make all the difference in what we’re able to do next year.

Last year, 75,000 people walked our paths to slow down and breathe. Underneath, the work goes on: a living collection catalogued plant by plant, a trail growing mile by mile. This is a botanic institution at work — built by people like you.

People: Education, Access & Community

• Over 2,800 students & educators on field trips and BotaniCamp
• Hort Tours, workshops & literacy programs
• Over 5,300 free admissions for income-qualifying guests

Plants & Nature: Horticulture & Conservation

• Digital plant accessioning has begun
• Actively stewarding 170 acres of curated gardens and Cross Timbers Forest
• Monarch tagging & university research site

The Future: Building for the Next Generation

• Driskill Children's Discovery Garden renovation completed
• Nature Trail expanded to 4.7 miles, with a goal of 8
• Therapeutic Horticulture Program launching in 2027!
