Tulsa needs its botanic garden — and in 2025, our community demonstrated that more than ever.   This year, more families, students, educators, researchers, members, and visitors turned to the Garden as a source of learning, inspiration, beauty, and belonging. Below is a look at what you helped make possible — and why your support is so essential as we continue to grow in 2026.

Education flourished this year as record numbers of people engaged with the Garden’s programs.

Highlights from 2025

• Monarch Experience – Our largest yet. Families learned about endangered monarchs and even helped with monarch tagging alongside horticulture staff.
• Day in the Garden – Hands-on nature activities like flower weaving and fairy garden building welcomed record-breaking attendance.
• BotaniCAMP – Our first-ever summer camp, where children explored nature through guided walks, STEAM lessons, and horticulture-led activities.
• Bootanical Spooky Trail – A month-long, ecology-themed trick-or-treat adventure enjoyed by thousands in the Children’s Discovery Garden.
• First Friday Horticulture Tours – Monthly learning experiences offering behind-the-scenes insights from our horticulture team.

Investing in the Future of Education

Thanks to grant funding, work has begun on:

• Creating our own plant labels and interpretive signs
• Cataloging plant collections in an international plant database
• Building a new Teaching Garden and Outdoor Classroom

Researchers from OSU, OU, and the University of Arkansas conducted studies on our grounds, reinforcing the Garden’s role as a living museum and scientific resource.

Exploration is at the heart of the Garden experience — and in 2025, that spirit thrived across our landscapes.

Highlights from 2025

• Cross Timbers Nature Trail – Controlled burns restored native wildflowers and improved ecosystem health.
• Trail Expansion Project – Advanced in collaboration with the Tulsa Urban Wilderness Coalition, with new trail features coming in 2026.
• Florigami Exhibit – Art, engineering, and nature came together through a traveling sculpture exhibit that captivated students and visitors.
• Caja de Agua Garden – A stunning new cultural landmark, gifted by Tulsa’s sister city of San Luis Potosí, symbolizing international friendship and shared heritage.

• Membership reached a new high: Over 2,000 households
• Bands & Blooms – Expanded into eight-week spring and fall seasons
• Summer Nights – Extended evening hours with themed weekly programming
• Volunteers – A growing community supporting events, education, and stewardship
• Private Events – Hundreds of weddings, celebrations, and retreats hosted
• Accessibility – Discounted admission for SNAP/WIC recipients, seniors, educators, first responders, and Title I students

The Garden strengthened its role as a place where Tulsa finds connection, restoration, celebration, and belonging.
